Abstract

Successful Implementation of digital technologies and associated processes is the ultimate goal/challenge faced by every organization. We present multiple case studies to understand the benefits and challenges of manufacturing firms in digitalization implementing digitalization programs. Manufacturing firms understand its importance, digitalization and many of them are in the process of digital transformation. While cost minimization remains the primary objective, digitalization firms are also fast adapting to service business models. Additionally, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has acted as a catalyst for digitalization of manufacturing firms, and thus, we present a digitalization readiness indicator, which would possibly help firms assess their digitalization readiness.
