Recent advances in embedded computing systems, wireless and mobile systems, novel sensors, electronic miniaturization, and wearable and implantable systems have enabled us to build the so called body sensor networks (BSN) that combine all the technologies. A BSN allows vital signs to be automatically collected. This data may be then integrated into the patient medical record so that hospitals and care providers can have access to the information at any time. In this paper we present a framework to estimate the trustworthy of signals measured by body sensor network systems. Our approach consists of using strong correlation techniques based on statistical analysis of the data and modeling of the mutual interdependence. This will be the key element to enable the building of trustworthy services based on these systems. In our paper we will present our ideas and some preliminary experiments based on a wearable bioimpedance device that measures breathing, electrocardiogram (ECG) and activity level. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
