A new inhibitor of mammalian adenosine triphosphatases, designated aquastatin A, has been isolated from a fungus identified as Fusarium aquaeductuum. The structure of this compound has been determined by MS and NMR analyses. It inhibits Na+/K+-ATPase with an IC50 value of 7.1 μM, and H+/K+-ATPase with an apparent IC50 value of 6.2 μm. © 1993, JAPAN ANTIBIOTICS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. All rights reserved.
