Respiratory disease is a disease with a fairly wide incidence and can affect anyone. One of the therapies for respiratory diseases is inhalation therapy. Inhalation therapy as one of the management of children with respiratory system disorders often causes distress. Distress during inhalation therapy can reduce the effectiveness of treatment. Interventions to increase children's fear of inhaling that can be done by nurses are to apply audiovisual distraction. The purpose of providing better care in the application EBNP (Evidence Based Nursing Practice) of audiovisual distraction is to reduce the child's level of distress during inhalation therapy. The EBNP application method used was PICOT (Problem: children who received inhalation therapy, Intervention: application an audiovisual distraction, Comparison: comparison of children who received intervention with those who did not, Results: there was a difference in distress scores between those who received the intervention and those who did not, Time: during inhalation therapy). The samples obtained were 2 patients, 1 intervention patient and 1 patient not given intervention in the Lili Care Room, Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. After being given the intervention, there was a significant difference in the level of difficulty in children. The distress score of children who were given the intervention was 0 while the children who were not given the intervention was 15. Therefore, the application of audiovisual distraction can reduce the distress of children when receiving inhalation therapy. Audiovisual distraction can be an intervention when facing distress during inhalation therapy.
