In the current work, guidelines are presented for the implementation of multimedia/hypermedia systems with the goal of fostering ecology and cultural heritage in natural and/or rural areas. The content of these systems has three elements which are interrelated in a triadic relation: simplicity, originality and universality. Additionally, in elements of the categories navigation and structure are preferred by those users who inhabit rural areas.
