Abstract

This study aims to explore the psychometric properties of the Portuguese version of the Strategies for Coping with Career Indecision (SCCI) Questionnaire (Lipshits-Braziler et al., 2016a). Analysis of data collected from 998 Portuguese college students indicated good levels of internal consistency. The weak correlations between subscales suggest that latent variables measure different constructs. The hierarchical cluster analysis, performed to explore the internal structure of SCCI Questionnaire, confirmed the groups of three items that comprise each subscale of strategies to coping with indecision. However, the confirmatory factor analysis data led to a satisfactory adjustment only for the model restricted to first-order factors, (Model H3:42-14). Furthermore, the hypothetical distinction between the three main coping styles was not supported in the Portuguese sample. Implications for the practice of vocational psychology and future research are addressed.
