Abstract

The transport network is very important for the economic development of each country, enabling the movement of goods and people. Damage on road infrastructure poses a direct threat to people’s safety, causing traffic disruption and economic and social impacts. The paper deals with the impact of floods on road infrastructure in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The paper describes the interaction between the road network and flood as well as their vulnerability, hazards, risks and risk reduction. The main concept and methodological approach for estimating the flood risk for the road transport network have been presented. The proposed climate risk assessment is an indicator-based methodology adjusted to available data.
