Abstract

A couple of trails run perpendicular to the slope. One, a wide gravel trail, is suitable for use by hikers, cross-country skiers, mountain bicyclists, and horseback riders. A series of culverts carries rainwater - safely and sustainably - beneath the trail. A second trail, a couple hundred meters upslope, is a single track, unpaved - essentially a deer trail. While it is popular with hikers, it is too narrow to ski comfortably, and its use by mountain bikers or horses is problematic.
