Abstract

Varicocele is one of the most studied topics in reproductive medicine, with over 5000 published peer-reviewed articles. Despite being extensively investigated, the role of varicocele in infertility remains debatable due to the complexity of confounders affecting fertility and reproductive outcomes. In this chapter, we review the critical aspects concerning varicocele in the scope of infertility, including epidemiology, pathophysiology, and treatment. Moreover, we also discuss the role of varicocele in hypogonadism.
