Abstract

Recent experimental and theoretical progress as regards the full manipulation of electron spins in quantum dot systems is reviewed. In order to realize coherent single-spin manipulation, we propose quantum-dot devices with an integrated high-frequency line designed to generate an ac magnetic field. We also discuss in detail the electric dipole spin resonance realized with a slanting Zeeman field. After discussions of the exchange coupling between the two electron spins in a double quantum-dot system, we present current spectra of a hybrid vertical-lateral double quantum-dot device. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2009.
