Abstract

This study presents the results from the pilot project using energy storage systems on Graciosa Island, in the Azores, as a flexible tool to increase renewable integration as well as to improve the power quality on the island. The main results of the exploration of the isolated grid with high renewable penetration managed by an autonomous energy management system are presented herein.
