Abstract

The article presents the study which analyzes the differences in patient demographics and in the relative incidence and outcome of childhood cancers, associated with the HIV infection. It found out that the HIV positive children tended to be younger at diagnosis. It concluded that the HIV infection increases the risk for Kaposi sarcoma, for death due to cytostatic toxicity and the overall risk of death in children with cancer.
