Abstract

There are several groups of children who experience a higher level of endangerment than their counterparts. Most at risk are children affected by migration, children in conflict with the law, children with disabilities, children of incarcerated mothers, children infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS, and children living in poverty. The chapter examines the increasingly important issue of bullying and cyber-bullying in the Caribbean. While gender and sexual identity issues have not been comprehensively researched, these are explored to some extent and the vulnerability of these children is discussed, using content analysis of local newspapers. Examining primary and secondary data, the vulnerabilities that these groups face are discussed and the process of the endangerment of their childhood explored.
