Abstract

Warburg effect is a phenomenon predominantly observed in cancer cells wherein cells ferment glucose to lactic acid using glycolysis even in the presence of oxygen. Otto Warburg observed this effect in 1926 and postulated it to be the fundamental cause of cancer
