Abstract

Chemical feeding is one system in the design of water treatment plants, and includes shipping methods and containers, bulk storage facilities, day storage, feeding equipment, on-site transportation of chemicals, and application (mixing) equipment. The paper identifies important chemical feeding system parameters and indicates significant design concepts for chemicals used in ordinary water treatment. Details on equipment design and specific materials of construction are covered as they relate to design concepts.
