Abstract

c-Fos and Zif2681 are both transcription factors (TF) implicated in brain plasticity and activated in the vertebrate brain by a variety of stimuli, including learning and memory. While the expression of zif268 is elevated by on-going synaptic activity in the adult brain, the expression of c-fos is usually very low, only to be stimulated in selected areas, involved in a particular process.
