Abstract

“İnce belli” tea glasses are well-known products and almost every houses and cafes have them in Turkey. It means that there is a huge demand for these products in the Turkish market. Moreover, there is a competition among the glass manufacturers in this product category in Turkey. These manufacturers have already implemented many various innovation methodologies. This study aims to conduct a statistical based, computer-aided innovation methodology on tea glasses as a sample that the findings will be able to be used in R&Ds. This is Kansei Engineering. In this frame, there were many methodologies were conducted. These are extracting Kansei words, affinity diagram, selecting the specimens (18 tea glasses), spanning space of product properties, SD survey, factor analyses, PCA and PLS. 102 Turkish people participated in the study. Finally, the results have given some hints for the R&D studies of “ince beli”.
