Abstract

This review of nonionic surfactants could not hope to cover all the extensive knowledge of these materials. Its aim is to give sufficient information on the nature, production and properties of these compounds to support the major part of the review on environmental analysis, biodegradability and effects on the flora and fauna of several environmental niches. From the flavour of the topics covered the reader is guided to the major literature on the subjects where one can gain the more in-depth scientific information.
