Abstract

"Using data on 39 species gleaned from the literature, Ashman and Schoen (1996b) found a strong negative correlation between flower longevity and pollinator visitation rate (r = −0.57; P < 0.0001), that is, species visited frequently had shorter flower longevities than those visited infrequently." - from Ashman 2004 chapter on floral longevity
