Abstract

Over the last few decades, progress in molecular biology and genetics, as well as the development of new experimental approaches, has brought together scientists from all fields. Developmental biologists, geneticists, endocrinologists, and dermatologists now study the many diverse facets of hair follicle biology including neuroectodermal-mesenchymal interactions, immunology, pigmentation, and stem cell biology. © 2008 Springer-Verlag.
