Abstract

ULTRASTRUCTURE OF THE SPERMATOZOON OF PROTOTHACA PECTORINA LAMARCK (MOLLUSCA, BIVALVIA) OF THE NORTH LlTTORAL OF THE BRAZIL. The ultrastructure of spermatozoa of the Prolothaca pecloril1a (Lamarck, 1818) is described. The most sign ificant difl"erences were found in the structure and arreangement of the acrosomes, with contains two types of material, one fibrilar, the other electron dense granular. It is concluded that spelln ultraslructure is 01" the primitive type.
