In this chapter the author presents an approach to cryptography, the so-called one-time-pad. This is the simplest and most secure way to keep secrets. This symmetric algorithm uses the same secret key for encryption and decryption, and a text can be encrypted and decrypted only by someone who knows the secret key. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
