Abstract

In this chapter adaptive state observers that takes parameters variation into consideration is used to achieve high performance without spoiling the dynamic response. These adaptive state observers are designed using the induction machine model. A modified gain rotor flux observer with a parameter adaptive scheme has been proposed for sensorless vector control induction motor drives. The value of the observer optimal gain has been derived by minimizing the error between the measured and estimated states. Also, the stability of the proposed rotor flux observer with the parameter identification scheme is proved using the Lyapunov’s theorem.
