Abstract

This project was based on the design and simulation of a vertical axis wind turbine for pedagogical purposes. It must operate at low speeds without the implementation of expensive technology. In order to achieve this, the V methodology was used because it provides a practical tool for the development of projects, allowing the researcher to carry out the integration of the three subsystems of mechatronics engineering: mechanics, electronics, and computer. The final design of the wind turbine has a rotation diameter of 1.2 m and a 2.4 m height and an average flow of 1.5 m/s.
