Abstract

Pediatric cervical spine injuries are not commonly encountered; however, early diagnosis and proper management are critical to optimize outcomes. The pediatric spine differs signi fi cantly from the adult spine leading to differing injury patterns. In this paper, we review the required diagnostic studies, the most common injury patterns, and treatment options for pediatric patients with a cervical injury.
