Abstract

The mathematical properties of the general luminescence decay law are de- scribed. Special attention is paid to cases represented by continuous distributions of decay rate constants. Six important decay functions are described in detail: stretched exponen- tial (Kohlrausch), compressed hyperbola (Becquerel), MittagLeffler, Heaviside, Weibull, and truncated Gaussian.
