Abstract

Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary field with a broad range of applications, including pharmaceuticals, technology, and agriculture. Nanotechnology can also be applied in nanomaterials-based bug sprays. Nanotechnology provides eco-friendly and effective approaches to combat pests in agriculture without hurting the environment. Nanopesticides are becoming increasingly popular because of their assortment of benefits. Nanoscale frameworks are used for agro synthetic products and different system may used in the management of agricultural chemical, which permit moderate uptake of dynamic components and thus diminishing measured of agrochemical application by limiting waste. Various forms have been used, including nanoemulsions, nanocases, nanodirt, and products containing perfectly built nanoparticles, similar to metals and metal oxides. Nanoparticles show promise for the efficient and successful control of bugs; polyphagous pest Helicoverpa armigera is most destructive and one of the serious pest which consumed more than 150 different agricultural crops through out the world it declared as international pes. Nano encapsulation of insecticide, fungicide and nematicide help in producing a formulation of pesticides which provide effective control of polyphagous pest while prevent crops and soil residues. However, there is a general lack of data on how they act and how they can be contained to prevent their discharge into the earth. In this chapter, we discuss the types of nanopesticides, their advantages, opportunities for improvement, and future potential applications.
