Abstract

Aging in Korea is discussed in light of the rapid growth in numbers andproportion of the Korean population and has a great impact upon planningand policy development. The demographic transition has implications onthe traditional family caregiving system. Living arrangements andemployment status of the elderly will be described, and the Economicimplications on society will be addressed. There are many roles for theKorean Government to provide for the welfare of the country's growingelderly population.
