Over the past two decades, there have been significant advances in the management and treatment of many neurodegenerative diseases. For example, the development of cholinergic agonists for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) have improved both functional abilities and quality of life, and newer monoamine oxidase inhibitors and transdermal dopaminergic patches improve function in Parkinsons Disease (PD).
