Abstract

Two new species of hyalid amphipods are described from New Zealand waters. Apohyale papanuiensis sp. nov. is described from Little Papanui on the Otago Peninsula, and New Zealand records of Apohyale media arc placed in its synonymy. Apohyale freemenae sp. nov. is recorded from the Antipodes Islands of the New Zealand subantarctic. A key to the New Zealand species of Apohyale is provided. © 2011 The Royal Society of New Zealand.
