Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a commonly encountered condition in an internal medicine clinic. This talk will enable teachers to present high-yield information within a case-based situation. The vignette will teach learners to identify key aspects of the history and physical that will aid in the diagnostic workup and subsequent treatment of patients with COPD. Essential elements of the history and physical, findings on imaging, and the creation of a differential diagnosis will facilitate the conversation to the goal of learning a stepwise method for treatment.
