Abstract

Objectives: The study aims to assess the role of ChatGPT in academics and to explore the potential risks of using chat GPT in academia. Methods: The study has used a descriptive research design by following a qualitative method using the secondary data. Various studies, researches, websites and reports on AI have been analysed to achieve the objective of the study. Results: It has been assessed that ChatGPT is being used for various purposes in education and research. However, it also has potential risks such as spreading fake and plagiarized content and in the long term can affect the research ethics and integrity. Conclusions: This study concludes that ChatGPT may be used for the betterment of society not to risk the human race and its cognitive capabilities.
