Abstract

The recent integration of children and adults with disabilities into mainstream society has resulted in a renewed interest in their ability to be independent and to lead productive lifestyles. Advances in science and technology have enabled many with disabilities to achieve functional goals in activities of daily living, which include mobility. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Italia.
