Abstract

This paper presents a method of translating Isarn Dharma alphabets into the Thai language. In order to develop the system, an Isarn to Thai dictionary was constructed. The Isarn Dharma input text was segmented into a sequence of Isarn words using the longest matching algorithm. In this study, we proposed a hybrid of dictionary and Augmented Translation Networks (ATNs) to translate the Isarn Dharma to Thai text. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the system, the Buddha foretell, Jataka legend, Stone inscription, Isarn foretell and common sentences were used to test the system. The experimental results showed that the correctness of the system is 61.81%. © 2014 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
