Abstract

The aim of this study is to explain the mechanisms and the pathophysiology leading to incontinence, to review the epidemiology, and to provide a practical approach to the assessment and treatment of the urinary incontinence in women. There is a wide range of new therapeutic options, though without long-term assessment of their safety and efficacy.
