Abstract

The importance of materials database have been well aware of as requirements of engineering design, risk management and new materials design. The paper discusses the problems of power material complexity and lack of data model. The problems are often faced the designer of electric power material. At the same time, we propose metadata management-based data with the sharing way. We referred to the Dublin core metadata standards system, and established the metadata standards system which it has conformed to the characteristic of electric power material data. Thus it realized the metadata centralized storage, centralized management and carried on the strict quality control to the input data. In the process of whole system designing, we use the object-oriented pattern method to establish the electric power material database system. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
