Abstract

'Athena' is a high-speed catamaran commuter ferry designed by Incat Designs and built by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding for Island Hi Speed Ferry in conjunction with Boston Harbor Cruises. The vessel will operate between Point Judith in Massachusetts and Block Island. Details are given of the aluminium multihull, ride control system, passenger facilities, propulsion systems, and engines. The shipyard has delivered more than 30 passenger vessels, including 22 fast catamarans.
