Abstract

Representations of the equilibrium phase behaviour of mixtures of injected fluids with the crude oil present in a formation during oil recovery processes are discussed. The main focus of the chapter is the representation of phase behaviour using an equation of state, though additional models are cited. The thermodynamic background, and the effects of volume translation are also dealt with. (D.W.T.)
