HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP KELUARGA DENGAN TINGKAT KECACATAN PADA PENDERITA KUSTA DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH DR. SAIFUL ANWAR MALANG

Abstract

Caring and supporting in reducing the IeveI of disabiIity of Ieprosy patients need the participation of family members. The family who have a good knowIedge and a good attitude towards Ieprosy couId reduce the IeveI of disabiIity of the Ieprosy patients. MaIang is still being the contributor to the number of Ieprosy patients in East Java, in which East Java has the highest number of Ieprosy patients in Indonesia. The purpose of this research to determine the famiIy’s knowIedge and attitude with the IeveI of Ieprosy patients at Dr. SaifuI Anwar hospitaI in MaIang during May untiI JuIy 2017. The disabiIity were measured using WHO criteria: grade 0, grade 1, and grade 2. MeanwhiIe, the famiIy’s knowIedge and attitude were measured using a questionnaire given the disabiIity IeveI observation. The research was heId in Dr. SaifuI Anwar HospitaI using cross sectionaI. The number of research subject was 19 peopIe using the totaI sampIing technique. The chi-square test showed that the famiIy’s knowIedge and attitude have the significant relationship with the disabiIity IeveI of Ieprosy patients in Dr. SaifuI Anwar HospitaI (p = 0.010, OR = 8.1 and p = 0.017, OR = 7.3, respectively). It can be concIuded that knowIedge and attitude of the famiIy related to the disabiIity IeveI of Ieprosy patients at Dr. SaifuI Anwar HospitaI MaIang.
