Abstract

The assembly process in automation process is developed in the lower degree opposite to other industrial technological processes. It is important to develop the methodical process for design of automated assembly devices, cells and systems and control of these systems. The bases for realization of this methodology are theoretical knowledge in the projecting of automated systems and in the automation and assembly area and also practice realization of automated devices in the cell conception. The design methodologies is developed only for automated assembly process and for its realization were used before known methodologies for designing the other automated and process devices. The design methodology is divided into three basic steps: process analysis, concept planning design and design of automated equipment for assembly device. Addition for knowledge is the development and creating of basic design methodology that will be applied for design of intelligent assembly cell. The conception of the intelligent assembly cell presents assembly system with the degree of intelligence that manipulates with semi products and final assembly products. The intelligence degree falls in determined sensory and control system that adapted assembly process in the intelligent assembly cell on the ground of assembly requirements. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
