Abstract

The paper summarises a design of a system capable of measuring slowly varying magnetic field in many points simultaneously. System has a centralised structure consisting of a single main module and multiple slave modules. The main module collects data from the slave modules (up to five), which in turn measure the magnetic field vector. For measuring the magnetic field Hall sensors are used. There are measured three components of the magnetic field vector in range: ±3 T, with resolution: 6 mT, and sampling rate: 50 Hz. Discussed in paper accuracy of the system equals ±14%. The future development of the system will probably comprise modification of the sensor probe and reduction of the modules' dimensions, which are intended to increase accuracy of measurements and to improve portability of the device. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.
