Abstract

In a democratic country, public voting is used to choose the government. The eligible citizens of that country are allowed to vote. In order to increase public voting and reduce the cost involved in an election, we need an online voting system. Public will be motivated to vote if they believe in the privacy and security of the system. This paper addresses issues in identification and authentication in the online voting system. Password and six-digit key are used for authentication. Confidentiality of password and key is preserved using our proposed algorithm. The integrity of data from user and database is verified using hash code. Brute force attack is impossible. The output generated by our algorithm makes cryptanalysis impossible.
