Abstract

New species and records are presented for the amphipod family Caprellidae from coral reefs at Bora Bora and Moorea, Society Islands. Caprellina bispinosa n. sp. and Fallotritella polynesica n. sp. are described. Notes on the habitat preference of the other species, Hemiaegina minuta Mayer, 1890 and Metaprotella sandalensis Mayer, 1898 are also given. M. sandalensis is redescribed with particular reference to its intraspecific variability.
