Abstract

Social media has infiltrated and influenced the world of medicine in several ways. It has changed the way our patients gather information about their health. In the changed context, health professionals must be prepared to communicate with patients differently, and combat misinformation. Secondly, the way health professionals learn has completely altered. Teachers also need to change their styles of teaching to meet with the demands of the new generation of digital learners. This chapter discusses the above issues in detail.
