Abstract

The use of resorcinol and resorcinol resins to improve the adhesion of organic and inorganic reinforcing materials to natural/synthetic rubber compositions is the major commercial application of resorcinol. For this reason, this use is a separate topic here. Other uses of resorcinol resins are discussed in Chapter 5, and the many uses of resorcinol/derivatives as additives for other polymeric compositions and organic materials are presented in Chapter 11.
