Abstract

Food security is one of the most important directions of provision of the national food security of a state. Financial instability and deepening of the systemic economic crisis actualized the necessity for monitoring of the state of food security as an objective condition for Russia’s economic sovereignty. The article views modern approached to determining the indicators of food security, based on the methodology of the Doctrine of food security of the RF and modern scientific concepts. Calculation and analysis of the indicators of food security and level of dependence on external supplies for 2000-2015 are presented. The indicators of achievement of rational norms of food products consumption and energy value of Russia’s population’s ration are presented. It is established that qualitative characteristics of food ration are closely connected to economic accessibility of food.
