Towards the development of iot protocols

Abstract

The increasing need for Internet of Things (IoT) devices will increase the need for resilient communication and network protocols, therefore an evaluation of the state of the art is required to establish the present and project the future of IoT networks. This paper analyses both communication and network protocols used in the IoT, as well as routing mechanisms and security procedures. The paper also uses the analysis made to the current technologies as basis for considerations regarding the future trends of IoT technologies.
