Abstract

Background: the menstrual cycle is the period from the onset of menstruation until the onset of the next menstruation. Usually occurs for 22-35 days and occurs within a period of 1-8 days. Objective: to determine the relationship between menarche age, knowledge, physical activity, stress, nutritional status with the menstrual cycle in female students of SMK Bina Cendikia Bogor. Methods: Descriptive analytic research using cross sectional design. The sampling technique used total sampling which amounted to 68 female students. The research instrument used is an instrument adopted from previous studies that have been tested for validity and reliability. With univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: The results of the chi square test showed there was a relationship between nutritional status (p-value=0.08), stress (p-value=0.023) knowledge (p-value=0.49), there was no relationship between menarche age (p-value=0.930) and physical activity (p-value=0.786) with the menstrual cycle. Conclusion: Nutritional status, stress and knowledge have an effect on menstrual cycle whereas, age of menarche and physical activity have no effect on menstrual cycle.
