Abstract

The indications for any therapy of congenital vascular tumors are growing tumors or other complications. Due to specific and calculable reactions, laser offers the best modality for localized therapy because only with laser is it possible to preserve the unaffected epithelial layer. Besides the different wavelengths with their specific absorptions patterns, a great variety of tissue interactions can be achieved by variation of the interaction time and surface protection by cooling and/or compression. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Milan.
