Abstract

A woman of 75 with hypercalcaemia from a parathyroid adenoma entered hospital in a catatonic stupor. Her case illustrates the clinical confusion that may arise between hyperparathyroidism and Paget's disease. Her mental state improved markedly two months after removal of the adenoma. © 1966, British Medical Journal Publishing Group. All rights reserved.
